This article, “What is Meant by Championing Execution to Achieve the Team’s Vision” points to the meaning of supporting the team’s vision toward becoming a reality. A leader’s involvement is essential in this process for three reasons: it is a sign of the leader’s commitment, the leader will make sure the process progresses toward concrete strategies, as well as giving team members a sense of achievement.
I read the book Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done by Larry Bossidy and Ram Charron a few years ago, relating to leadership execution of a team’s vision, and how to deliver results. Although I didn’t find it an easy read, it was definitely well worth it, and I highly recommend it to everyone in any leadership position.
